    Keyword Stuffing

Keywords are an important part of the substance of a website’s content. Keyword stuffing is followed in which webmasters load their pages with instances of commonly searched for keywords. The practice is designed to get direct traffic to the site by raising the site’s ranking in search results, to increase site’s income. However, keyword stuffing may be disliked by many search engines. A website may be penalized for keyword stuffing. A search engine may use complex algorithms to detect signs of keyword stuffing. Keyword stuffing happens whenever a webmaster takes a web page with mediocre ranking and adds keywords to it for the purpose of increasing the rank higher in the search engines. Keyword stuffing said to be a black hat technique. Keyword stuffing is best described as the process of adding keywords to text for the purpose of getting a page to rank better in the search engines.

Search engine optimization (SEO) technique considers Keyword stuffing as an unethical practice. Keyword stuffing is done in a web page when it is loaded with keywords in the Meta tags or in content.

Keyword stuffing is done by hiding the keyword so that visitors do not see it. This can be done in different ways like text colored to blend with the background , by using CSS“Z” positioning to place text “behind” an image and therefore making invisible to the visitor or using CSS absolute positioning to have the text positioned far from the page center are all common techniques. Inserting repeating keywords within the input type=”hidden” field Meta tag or the keyword tag is also a common practice of keyword stuffing. Keyword stuffing also is known as keyword loading and spamdexing.
